About Jeffrey Hillis
Jeffrey Hillis is an accomplished behavioral healthcare executive who is now dedicating himself to providing valuable consulting services to behavioral health industry stakeholders. Jeff’s accomplishments in the industry are substantial and he brings an informed and unique perspective to assist clients.
Jeff’s experience includes 20 years of successful operations with a large substance use disorder treatment organization. During Jeff’s tenure, that system provided a full continuum of substance use disorder treatment services in MA and RI with two inpatient facilities, seven outpatient locations, and a subsidiary corporation operating in the criminal justice arena. In 2018 Jeff and the organization team coordinated a sale of the organization to a national provider. Jeff then continued to provide three years of leadership to his division following the sale of the organization. Few consultants bring experience that includes owner operation of an organization, oversight of an involved transaction process, followed by continued leadership with a national company.
In addition to successful operations of the entities Jeff has overseen, Jeff has consistently shown dedication to the behavioral health field and the patients served in that system. Jeff has held significant board and committee positions with both state and national associations. Importantly, Jeff served as the Chairman of the National Association for Behavioral Healthcare (NABH) Addiction Committee from 2015-2020. Jeff’s interest and involvement in industry related activities has provided him with a keen awareness of issues and challenges that extended far beyond the walls of his own facilities/organizations.
Jeff received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Stonehill College and received his Juris Doctor and Masters in Business Administration degrees from Suffolk University. Jeff is licensed as an attorney in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
